My official Sidney Crosby fantasy hockey prediction is 28 goals, 51 assists and 79 points in 75 games.
The foundation of the projection is Crosby’s 1.09 points-per-game performance from last season. Applying that rate to 75 games would produce approximately 82 points. I then applied a modest age and availability adjustment while giving Crosby a slight assist boost based on Pittsburgh’s potential power-play personnel.

Why Sidney Crosby Still Has an Elite Fantasy Hockey Floor
The most important part of Crosby’s fantasy value is that his production has never depended solely on explosive skating. He creates points through puck protection, anticipation, faceoff execution, net-front positioning and an exceptional understanding of where his linemates will be.
That matters as he gets older. A player who needs speed to generate every scoring chance can experience a sudden fantasy decline. Crosby can continue producing because his greatest strengths are processing, timing and execution.
The Penguins’ power play will be another major factor. Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Rickard Rakell and Erik Karlsson have extensive experience together, while newcomer Andrei Kuzmenko could provide another skilled finishing option. Kuzmenko signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh after recording 13 goals and 25 points in 52 games for Los Angeles last season.
It is important to clarify that a Crosby-Malkin-Rakell-Kuzmenko-Karlsson unit has not been confirmed. Pittsburgh used Karlsson, Crosby, Rakell, Bryan Rust and Malkin on its top power-play group during the 2026 playoffs. Kuzmenko will have to earn his place, potentially competing with Rust for a position on the top unit or moving between Pittsburgh’s two power-play groups.
From a fantasy perspective, I would be comfortable targeting Crosby after the first wave of younger elite centers has been selected. His ceiling may no longer match Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon or other potential 100-point players, but Crosby remains one of the safest bets to produce close to a point per game.
He is especially valuable in formats that count points, power-play production, shots and faceoff wins. His value is slightly lower in leagues that heavily reward hits, blocked shots or long-term keeper upside.
There is also room for Crosby to beat this projection. If he plays 78 or more games and Pittsburgh’s power play clicks immediately, an 82-to-85-point season is realistic. The downside is closer to 68-to-72 points if injuries limit him to fewer than 70 appearances.
My final prediction remains 28 goals, 51 assists and 79 points in 75 games. That would represent a small decline in points-per-game production, but it would still make Sidney Crosby a reliable and valuable Fantasy Hockey center for the 2026-27 season.
Crosby is under contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins through the end of the 2026-27 season, while Malkin has also signed for the coming campaign. The organization is clearly giving its veteran core another opportunity to remain competitive together.
