Sebastian Aho remains one of the safest high-end centers in fantasy hockey, but his ceiling for the 2026-27 NHL season may be getting overlooked. My projection has the Carolina Hurricanes star finishing with 33 goals and 55 assists for 88 points in 80 games.
That would represent an eight-point increase from Aho’s official 2025-26 production of 27 goals, 53 assists and 80 points in 79 games. More importantly for fantasy managers, it would move him back toward the 89-point career high he established in 2023-24. Aho does not need a dramatic breakout or an unsustainable shooting percentage to reach that range. He needs better goal-scoring results, continued health and another full season operating at the centre of Carolina’s power play.
My personal read is that Aho has a stronger chance of reaching 90 points than falling below 80. Carolina surrounds him with speed, finishing ability and enough offensive depth to prevent opposing teams from focusing exclusively on his line. He may not generate the attention of the NHL’s 100-point superstars, but that could make him one of the better value selections near the end of the first round or beginning of the second round in fantasy drafts.
Sebastian Aho Fantasy Hockey Projection for 2026-27
| Category | 2025-26 result | 2026-27 projection |
|---|---|---|
| Games played | 79 | 80 |
| Goals | 27 | 33 |
| Assists | 53 | 55 |
| Points | 80 | 88 |
| Points per game | 1.01 | 1.10 |
Aho’s 2025-26 season was still excellent, even though his goal total finished below what fantasy managers have come to expect. He led the Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes with 80 regular-season points and remained the offensive player through whom Carolina’s most dangerous opportunities were created.
The encouraging part is that Aho did not need an unusually high goal total to remain above a point-per-game pace. His 53 assists demonstrated how effectively he distributed the puck and created chances for Carolina’s talented wingers.
For my projection, I am estimating modest improvement rather than assuming a career year. The largest increase comes from Aho returning to the low-30-goal range. His playmaking should remain dependable enough to produce approximately 55 assists, particularly if Carolina’s power play converts more consistently.
Why Aho Can Challenge 90 Points
The Hurricanes have the personnel to give Aho one of the strongest supporting groups of his career. Carolina’s top power-play options have included Aho, Nikolaj Ehlers, Andrei Svechnikov and Shayne Gostisbehere, with Jordan Staal or Seth Jarvis also receiving important assignments depending on the lineup configuration.
Ehlers adds speed and controlled-zone-entry ability. Svechnikov provides a dangerous shooting threat and a physical net-driving presence. Gostisbehere can move laterally across the blue line and deliver the puck through traffic. That combination allows Aho to operate as both a shooter and primary distributor rather than forcing him to create every opportunity himself.
The key fantasy question is whether Aho’s goal production rebounds. He has already demonstrated that he can score in the mid-30s, and he remains capable of producing at even strength, on the power play and while shorthanded. I expect him to shoot more aggressively in 2026-27, especially when defenders begin leaning toward Carolina’s wingers.
My reasonable fantasy range for Aho is:
| Scenario | Goals | Assists | Points |
| Fantasy floor | 29 | 50 | 79 |
| Projected result | 33 | 55 | 88 |
| Fantasy ceiling | 36 | 59 | 95 |
The floor remains attractive because Aho’s role is secure. He receives top-line minutes, works on the first power-play unit and is relied upon in every important offensive situation. The ceiling becomes reachable if he plays 80 or more games and Carolina’s power play produces at an elite rate.

Sebastian Aho’s 2026-27 Fantasy Hockey Draft Value
I would be comfortable targeting Aho as a high-end fantasy center once the obvious first-tier superstars are off the board. His combination of scoring stability, power-play usage and lineup security makes him less risky than players whose value depends on a single breakout season.
In points-only leagues, I would rank Aho as a strong candidate to finish between 85 and 92 points. In category formats, his value will depend on whether the league rewards shots, faceoff wins, special-teams production and shorthanded points. His floor makes him an excellent foundation player, while the possibility of a 35-goal, 90-point season provides enough upside to justify an aggressive draft position.
My official Sebastian Aho fantasy hockey prediction for 2026-27 is 33 goals, 55 assists, and 88 points in 80 games.
