With NHL trade rumors winding down this offseason, one player still attracting interest from various teams is free-agent forward Tomas Tatar.
Tatar, 32, is coming off an NHL campaign where he put up 48 points (20g, 28a) in 82 games with the New Jersey Devils.
Over a career that has spanned 12 seasons, he has a total of 455 points in 783 games played and 13 playoff points in 52 games played.
Will Tomas Tatar sign with the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, or Winnipeg Jets?
Travis Yost of TSN reports Tomas Tatar is seeking one final long-term contract. He would love to stay in New Jersey but the Devils are capped out.
Yost believes Tatar is worthy of a contract in the $ 4.5 million a year range, and the teams that should be interested in signing him should play an aggressive, high-tempo offense.
NHL trade rumors suggest that the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Winnipeg Jets would be perfect fits for Tatar.
A Slovak newspaper is reporting that Tomas Tatar is in talks with the Penguins. It will be interesting to see if the Pens can fit him into their salary cap.
