New York Rangers likely to trade for a defenceman
NBCSN: Bob McKenzie believes the New York Rangers need a right side defenseman and notes St. Louis Blues rearguard Kevin Shattenkirk would fit the bill. However, he claims the Rangers aren’t necessarily in trade mode right now and don’t want to mortgage their future anymore. If the Rangers pursue a rental blueliner, McKenzie believes they’ll consider a less, more affordable option.
LA Kings looking to add a top-6 forward
The Fourth Period: The Los Angeles Kings’ struggles to find the back of the net have been another focal point this season, prompting management to search for another goal scorer. Kings GM Dean Lombardi has been combing the market in search for a goal-scoring winger, preferably a left wing, to play alongside captain Anze Kopitar. The Kings, as it has been well documented, have had discussions with the Colorado Avalanche over Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog, with the Avs’ captain being a focal point.
