Montreal Canadiens interested in Pierre-Luc Dubois
Sportsnet: Nick Kypreos reports the Habs have interest in Blue Jackets center Pierre-Luc Dubois. Columbus is looking for scoring and had interest in Canadiens winger Alex Galchenyuk in the past but he doesn’t think that gets it done for Dubois. The Canadiens would have to add a top prospect or possibly a 1st round draft pick.
What will the Blue Jackets do with Jack Johnson?
The Athletic: Jack Johnson has requested a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Jackets are expected to be buyers at the deadline, not sellers, which makes trading Johnson a challenge for the team. The Blue Jackets will likely look at swinging a deal with another playoff club with potentially available UFAs. The Toronto Maple Leafs are in need of blueline help and center Tyler Bozak could be a possible trade target.
Will the Senators try and trade Bobby Ryan this summer?
The Athletic: Eric Duhatschek suggests the Ottawa Senators finding a creative way to move winger Bobby Ryan or defenseman Dion Phaneuf to free up sufficient salary-cap room to re-sign franchise player Erik Karlsson. Duhatschek wonders if they might be able to tempt the Vegas Golden Knights this summer if James Neal and/or David Perron depart via free agency. If one or both sign elsewhere, Vegas will be in need for a top-six scorer and will have cap flexibility to find one.
