The Denver Post:  The Colorado Avalanche need another skilled defenseman capable of moving the puck up the ice. Los Angeles’ Andrej Sekera, Toronto’s Jake Gardiner, Washington’s Mike Green, San Jose’ Matt Irwin and Nashville Cody Franson are those who could immediately help the Avs. The Avalanche are not expected to re-sign unrestricted free-agent defensemen Jan Hejda and Ryan Wilson.
TSN1050: Bob McKenzie was on the radio and he feels the Toronto Maple Leafs will trade Phil Kessel for the right price. GM Dale Talon of the Florida Panthers would like to make a trade for Kessel as he feels Phil will excel under the young centers the Panthers have. The question is, can the Panthers afford Kessel’s salary?
