Jarome Iginla would like to be traded to a contender

Sportsnet: Jarome Iginla has stated that he wants to get dealt to a playoff contender at the March 1 deadline. “I would like to, at the deadline, go somewhere,” Iginla said. “I would like to be in the playoffs. I would hope that there is some opportunity to go and play in the playoffs. Those are the best games, the most fun for sure, and you have a chance to win. So no, I haven’t given up on that chance to win.” Iginla is in the last season of a three-year, $16-million contract. He would have to waive his no-movement clause for a trade to take place.

Dmitry Kulikov likely to be traded at the trade deadline

Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman reports Buffalo Sabres pending UFA blueliner Dmitry Kulikov could also be available before the trade deadline. Kulikov has missed half the NHL season because of injuries. Interested clubs will want to wait and see how he performs throughout this month before looking into acquiring him.
