Will the Vancouver Canucks trade Ryan Miller?

TSN: Pierre LeBrun reports Vancouver Canucks goalie Ryan Miller has a five-team list of preferred trade destinations, three of them in California where he spends the off-season. LeBrun suggests the LA Kings could be a fit if starter Jonathan Quick’s recovery from a groin injury becomes uncertain. The Canucks, however, are open to bringing back Miller on a reduced salary.

Montreal to be active at the NHL trade deadline

The Fourth Period: The Montreal Canadiens remain very active in the trade market, looking for various options to potentially acquire by March 1. The Canadiens have held discussions with the St. Louis Blues about forward Patrik Berglund and defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, the Arizona Coyotes about center Martin Hanzal, the Colorado Avalanche about both forwards Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog, and the Dallas Stars about left wing Patrick Eaves.

Carolina defenceman Ron Hainsey likely to be traded

The Fourth Period: Defenceman Ron Hainsey, 35, is in the final year of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1. Several teams are looking for help on the blueline, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames, among others, and may be knocking on Hurricanes GM Ron Francis’ door. Hainsey has a limited no-trade clause where he can list 15 teams he would accept a move to.
