Will the Winnipeg Jets trade Jacob Trouba?

Latest Detroit Red Wing trade rumors

The Fourth Period: If the Detroit Red Wings fail to make up any major ground on a playoff position in the coming weeks, GM Ken Holland may be forced to move some of his assets before the March 1 NHL trade deadline. The Red Wings could look at trading winger Thomas Vanek. He signed a one-year contract with Detroit last summer and could be moved to a Stanley Cup contender if the right offer comes along — and he could also generate a solid return for the Wings. Forwards Drew Miller and Steve Ott, and defenseman Brendan Smith are also set to become unrestricted free agents July 1 and could be dangled as trade bait.

Will the Winnipeg Jets trade Jacob Trouba?

Sportsnet 960: Eliiote Friedman was on Calgary’s local radio sports station and suggests that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba could be in play in the trade market. While Trouba is on a two-year bridge deal, nobody considers this a long-term solution. Friedman feels a rival club will have to make it worth the Jets’ while to part with the talented young blueliner, but he ultimately believes somebody will.

Will Flyers GM Ron Hextall make a trade to shake things up?

The Hockey News: Philadelphia Flyers GM Ron Hextall said he’ll only swing a deal if it’ll significantly help the club. Given the Flyers poor performance of late, a trade might be Hextall’s only option to improve things. The Flyers carry “only a few marketable commodities” that might fetch a good return. Rival GMs could have more interest in the Flyers’ crop of promising young defensemen. The Colorado Avalanche are in the market for good young defensemen and reportedly entertaining offers for left wing Gabriel Landeskog and center Matt Duchene.
