Montreal Canadiens

The Fourth Period: The Montreal Canadiens have been searching for a top-four defenseman for the last few weeks. The Habs have expressed interested in Andrej Sekera of the Carolina Hurricanes, Zbynek Michalek and Keith Yandle of the Arizona Coyotes, Jeff Petry of the Edmonton Oilers, and Braydon Coburn of the Philadelphia Flyers

ESPN.com: Pierre LeBrun reports the Buffalo Sabres are sticking to the asking price of a second-round pick and a prospect for winger Chris Stewart. It could take until trade deadline day to move Stewart.

Pittsburgh Post Gazette: Pittsburgh Penguins GM Jim Rutherford would like to add a top-six or top-nine forward. He also wouldn’t mind adding a defenseman. The issue the Pens have is the team has limited assets to move. The Pens do not want to part with blueline prospects Derrick Pouliot, Brian Dumoulin and Scott Harrington.
