Chicago Blackhawks

The Fourth Period: Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman is evaluating the trade market, looking to shed salary cap space by dangling a number of his players. Forwards Bryan Bickell, Patrick Sharp, Kris Versteeg, Jeremy Morin and Corey Tropp are among the players the Blackhawks are believed to be fielding offers for. The Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs are believed to have interest in Bickell.

The Hockey News: Alexander Semin could see his stock improve among teams in need of scoring depth. Semin has tallied 513 points in 635 NHL games, reaching or exceeding 20 goals in seven of his 10 NHL seasons. Though the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Phil Kessel, they’re still looking for a winger. The Florida Panthers and New Jersey Devils could also have interest in Semin.

Ottawa Sun: Bruce Garrioch reports that Ottawa Senators GM Bryan Murray would like to add the top-six forward he’s sought for some time. He wasn’t able to find one via trade or free agency. Murray will likely have to make a trade during the NHL season.
