The 2021 NHL draft was held on July 23, 2021 and for the second time it was held remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 NHL Entry Draft also featured the Seattle Kraken’s first ever draft pick.
Defenceman Owen Power was selected #1 overall by the Buffalo Sabres. The Seattle Kraken selected forward Matthew Beniers #2 overall.
The best player out of the 2021 NHL entry draft is still up in the air, will Power live up to the expectations of a #1 overall pick or will another pick be the cream of the crop for this NHL draft?
Note: The Arizona Coyotes‘ first-round pick was forfeited as the result of a penalty sanction due to violations of the NHL Combine Testing Policy during the 2019–20 NHL season.
