Auston Matthews sets a Toronto Maple Leafs record for scoring in nine consecutive road games with a goal against the Arizona Coyotes.

Auston Matthews is a goal scoring machine. After a slow start to the season, he now sits tied for second with Alex Ovechkin for goals scored.

With Matthews scoring in a surprising loss to the Arizona Coyotes last night, he set a new Toronto Maple Leafs franchise record for goals in consecutive road games.

Matthews scored for the ninth straight time away from home, breaking the Toronto record of eight held by three players (Babe Dye, 1921; Frank Mahovlich, 1960-61; Daniel Marois, 1989).

Matthews will look to extend his consecutive road goal scoring streak when the Leafs play the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.
