This past offseason NHL trade rumors floating around had the Nashville Predators deciding if they want to trade Filip Forsberg or re-sign him to a contract extension?
Gentry Estes of the Nashville Tennessean reports to know the Nashville Predators’ true intentions, watch Filip Forsberg’s contract. Estes feels it would be better for the Preds to trade their star forward.
Estes went on to say, why would you want to invest a small fortune on re-signing him, especially when he’d be worth a king’s ransom if moved before the 2022 NHL trade deadline.
It is looking like Nashville will be heading toward a full re-build instead of tweaking the team on the fly. Forsberg will be traded for considerable assets that will help Nashville in their full scale rebuild.
If things change and Forsberg is re-signed at some point before the trade deadline, the Predators will build upon the assets they have in Matt Duchene, Juuse Saros and Roman Josi.
