The LA Kings are looking to trade for a young stud defenceman and are willing to take on a bad contract to make a trade happen.

Darren Dreger was on TSN’s Insider Trading and was reporting that LA Kings GM Rob Blake is looking for a top young defenceman at 25 and younger.

Dreger went on to state, “Blake specifically wants a dynamic, left-shot defenceman. When you look at the Los Angeles Kings, they do have an abundance of forwards, particularly at centre ice.”

The Kings have an abundance of promising young forwards and plenty of draft picks they could package in trade to acquire what they’re looking for.

The Kings would love to land a young defenceman like Philadelphia Flyers Ivan Provorov or Ottawa Senators dman Thomas Chabot. It is not known if the Kings would make a 2021 NHL trade deadline deal or wait till the off-season to make a big move.

The Fourth Period is reporting GM Rob Blake is willing to take on salary if the right deal presented itself and that could put the team in a position to help out another club in cap trouble if they can get a young stud defenceman by doing so.
