Jesper Bratt may be one of the more interesting bounce-back candidates in fantasy hockey entering the 2026-27 NHL season.
After recording 22 goals and 49 assists for 71 points in 82 games last season with the New Jersey Devils, Bratt enters 2026-27 carrying considerably more fantasy upside than his most recent point total suggests. My projection has Bratt finishing with 26 goals, 58 assists and 84 points in 82 games.
That would represent a 13-point increase, but I don’t think fantasy managers need an unrealistic breakout to get there. The biggest reason is New Jersey’s power play.
Bratt recorded 20 power-play points last season, including five power-play goals and 15 assists. A year earlier, when he produced a career-high 88 points, Bratt recorded 34 power-play points. That 14-point swing on special teams accounts for most of the difference between the two seasons.
If Bratt continues receiving premium opportunities with players such as Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Dougie Hamilton, another run at 80-plus points becomes very realistic.
And that is exactly why I believe Bratt could outperform where some fantasy managers value him following his 71-point season.
Jesper Bratt 2026-27 Fantasy Hockey Projection
Here is my projection for Bratt entering the season:
Bratt already established that this kind of offensive ceiling is sustainable. He had 27 goals and 56 assists for 83 points in 2023-24, followed by 21 goals and 67 assists for a career-high 88 points in 2024-25.
The 71-point season therefore looks more like a down year inside an established high-end production window than evidence that Bratt suddenly became a 70-point player.
Why Jesper Bratt Could Become a Fantasy Hockey Steal
The first place I look with Bratt is opportunity.
NHL.com’s current 2026-27 projected Devils lineup has Bratt skating alongside Jack Hughes and Connor Brown, keeping him attached to New Jersey’s most dangerous offensive creator at even strength.
Then there is the power play.
Bratt produced just 20 power-play points in 2025-26 after totaling 34 the previous season. Fantasy managers should pay attention to that decline because power-play production can swing dramatically from year to year without a player’s underlying offensive talent disappearing.
My model assumes approximately 27 power-play points in 2026-27. I’m not projecting a full return to his 34-point special-teams explosion, which gives the forecast some breathing room.
I also have Bratt rebounding toward roughly 200 shots. He recorded 178 shots last season after posting 248 during his 27-goal 2023-24 campaign.
More volume combined with a potent Devils power play is why I’ve moved the goal projection from 22 to 26.
The assists are where Bratt remains especially attractive.
Playing extensive minutes with Hughes gives Bratt access to one of the NHL’s best transition and puck-possession attacks. Add Hischier, Meier and Hamilton to New Jersey’s collection of offensive weapons, and Bratt doesn’t necessarily need to dominate possession himself to pile up secondary fantasy production.
My Jesper Bratt Fantasy Hockey Value Model
My reasonable range would be:
Floor: 74-76 points
Projection: 84 points
Upside: 90-92 points
The 90-point ceiling requires New Jersey’s power play to become one of the more dangerous units in hockey and Bratt to stay healthy for virtually the entire season.
But 82-85 points does not require everything to go perfectly.
That distinction matters on draft day.
I would view Bratt as a player to target if other fantasy managers overreact to his 71-point season. I would not draft him assuming 95 points, but if the market prices him closer to a 70-75-point winger, there is significant upside.
My final Jesper Bratt projection for 2026-27: 26 goals, 58 assists and 84 points in 82 games.
