Shea Weber trade rumors
Could Shea Weber be traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Will the Montreal Canadiens trade Shea Weber?

TSN: Travis Yost reports  given the Montreal Canadiens struggle this season, the fact they’re no closer to Stanley Cup contention and Shea Weber’s abilities as a top-pairing defenseman, Yost wondered “if there’s any way his name could be kicked up in the trade market.” Yost pondered the possibility of a team such as the Toronto Maple Leafs taking a shot. He noted the Leafs have been in the market for top-four defensemen for over a year. He considered their lack of an experienced No. 1 blueliner on their young defense corps a fatal flaw. Yost pointed out the Leafs have the depth in young assets who’ll need new contracts soon as possible trade bait.

Could the Boston Bruins trade Tuukka Rask?

Boston Herald: The Boston Bruins goalie controversy has resulted in Tuukka Rask’s name popping up recently in the rumor mill.  With backup Anton Khudobin playing well many feel it is time for the Bruins to trade Rask and get some assets back. Rask is coming off four straight seasons where he’s won 30-plus games, maintained a save percentage of .915 or higher and collected 22 shutouts.

Will the NY Islanders make a big trade this year?

New York Post: Larry Brooks suggests it’s time for the New York Islanders to go all-in by making a big trade this season. While the current goalie tandem of Jaroslav Halak and Thomas Greiss doesn’t strike Brooks as Cup material, he feels the prospect of acquiring a goalie that could put them over the top this season. Acquiring left wing Evander Kane from the Buffalo Sabres as a rental player for the Tavares line seems tempting. Brooks thinks the Islanders should target Oliver Ekman-Larsson as their #1 priority over a goalie or winger for Tavares.

  1. When Larry Brooks comments on the Isles, you can take it to the bank it will go the other way. He just likes to throw as much s–t at the wall and see if anything sticks.
